In Short

The Photochemical Dynamics Group (Moser Group) aimed to advance the science and technology of solar energy conversion through basic research. Since 1998, efforts have focused on investigating the mechanisms and ultrafast dynamics of photoinduced charge separation and transfer in molecular, semiconductor and hybrid systems for emerging photovoltaic and lighting applications.

Systems under investigation included perovskite lead halide organic-inorganic hybrid semiconductor thin films and quantized nanoparticles, dye-sensitized solar cells, and small-molecule organic photovoltaic systems. Ultrafast laser spectroscopy techniques, such as broadband transient absorption and fluorescence upconversion, electromodulated differential absorption and time-resolved THz spectroscopies, have been the main methods of investigation.

The Group’s experimental research activity ceased in June 2023 when Pr Jacques-E. Moser has reached retirement age.
